J5 Studio Events ("we", "us") runs a personal events and calendaring website at events.j5live.cc. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, how we use and share it, and the choices you have.

Who we are

J5 Studio Events is a small personal project. We operate the site primarily to help ourselves and our guests organize events (calendar invites, event coordination) and you can reach us at you@j5live.cc.

Information you give us when you sign in. We let you sign in with Google. When you do, Google shares with us the basics needed for your account: your name and email address.

Information you may optionally choose to add. You can optionally tell us more about yourself, such as your website, social media handles, phone number, and how you heard about us. You're never required to provide these — they only help us personalize your events.

Information collected automatically. Like most websites, our hosting provider and any analytics we use may collect technical details automatically, such as your IP address, browser type, the pages you visit, and how you arrived at the site. This is standard hosting/analytics practice and we use it to keep the site working and understand how it's used.

How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

create and manage your account;
personalize your events and calendaring experience;
respond to your questions and requests; and
keep the site running, fix problems, and understand how it's used so we can improve it.

Third parties

We do not sell or rent your personal information to anyone, and we do not trade it with other organizations.

We may share your information with service providers who help us run the site, only as needed:

Google — for signing in (Google OAuth) and for reading/importing events from Google Calendar you choose to connect. Google handles this data under its own privacy policy.
Hosting provider (and CDN) — to serve the site and its content securely.
Analytics — if we use it, to understand aggregate site usage.

We may also share information when the law requires it, or to protect the safety of any person.

Cookies and analytics

We use cookies and similar technologies to make the site work and, if we use analytics, to understand usage. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; some parts of the site may not work without them. We do not use advertising tracking cookies.

How long we keep it

We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes above, or as long as the law requires. When we no longer need it, we delete it.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you at any time. Just email you@j5live.cc and we'll respond within a reasonable time (typically within 30 days). We may need to keep some records where the law requires it.

If we make important changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page. The current version will always be available at this page.
